Io mi chiamo Alessandro Ballini.
Fin da piccolo, 8 anni circa ero affascinato dalle macchine fotografiche, ricordo che chiedevo al Babbo come si usassero, lui era l’esperto per me, ne possedeva ben due. Una Kodak e una Rolleiflex un sogno !!!
Nel 1979 la mia famiglia andò in ferie in Spagna e il Babbo mi consegno la mia prima fotocamera, la Kokak Retinette, ero così fiero di averla al collo e con le istruzioni del caso, un fogliolino disegnato apposta infilato tra la fotocamera e il guscio di pelle. Ricordo molto bene che, gli finii due rulli in mezz’ora e…. me la tolse subito.
Ma io non demordevo , assillavo e volevo sapere, conoscere, imparare e all’età di 14 anni in Italia si sceglie cosa vuoi fare da grande e io non avevo dubbi…. Voglio fare il Fotografo.
Il Babbo ogni tanto mi portava a Firenze da un Fotografo dietro via del Corso nella “ Buca di Dante “ Paolo Mariani uno dei più bravi Matrimonialisti di Firenze. Nella “ Buca “ c’era lo studio, luci, pannelli e soprattutto la camera oscura, gestita dal cugino, Ennio, un mago !!! Per due estati sono stato a “ Bottega “ chiaramente a lavorare e sodo per giunta ma, mi sono divertito tantissimo e soprattutto ho imparato una marea di cose sulla fotografia.
Non mi era permesso di scattare, potevo solo passare le ottiche, filtri ma i miei occhi hanno rubato tanto, gesti, movimenti, abitudini di quella che volevo diventasse la mia vita.
Ho collaborato con Paolo a scattare Matrimoni, cataloghi in studio e in esterni, ricordo una frase che Paolo disse al Babbo : E l’hè bello piazzato e mi serve a portar il banco su e giù !!!! Bhooo dissi io .
Ma dopo l’ho capito i’ che voleva dire, Il Banco Ottico una trentina di Kg più il cavalletto che ne pesava altrettanti su e giù per le vie di Firenze a realizzare cataloghi di quadri, argenteria ecc.
Arriva Settembre ed l’ora di andare a Scuola, ho scelto l’Istituto d’Arte di Firenze nella sezione Grafica e Fotografia.
Dopo il Diploma di Maestro D’Arte conseguito al mitico Istituto D’Arte di Firenze ho avuto diverse esperienze lavorative, dalla stampa Serigrafica, Cartotecnica, Stampa a Caldo e Litografica, pur sempre rimanendo legato alla mia fotografia.
Fortemente voluto come socio al Club il Cupolone di Firenze e dove tutto ora è legato, ha esposto in mostre personali e collettive in Turchia, Oman, Parigi, Lussemburgo, Galles ecc.
Sono stato insignito dalla Federation Art de Photograpique AFIAP nel 2009( Artist ), EFIAP nel 2011, EFIAP/B nel 2013( Exelance ), nel 2015 EFIAP/S e nel 2017( Silver Exelance ), EFIAP/G nel 2018( Gold Exelance) e EFIAP/P ( Platinum Exelance ) nel 2019.. Ho fatto parte della squadra del Cupolone quando abbiamo vinto Coppa del Mondo per Club 2007, ORO alla 27°Biennale a Lussemburgo 2013 con la Squadra Italiana, un BRONZO alla 11th Fiap World Cup 2016, Menzione alla 14th World Cup 2018 e Coppa del Mondo alla 16th World Cup 2021.
La FIAF Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche indice la Coppa Italia, concorso per circoli fotografici e nel 2009 e nel 2022 ho vinto la Coppa Italia con il mio circolo fotografico.
Ho all’attivo circa 3000 ammissioni internazionali con 300 opere diverse e numerosi premi.
Nel 2017 ho aperto la mia partita iva come professionista fotografo e sono sempre in cerca di nuove esperienze.
Insomma sono ancora qui, a voler raccontare con le immagini il mio Mondo.

Since I was a child, around 8 years old, I was fascinated by cameras, I remember asking my father how to use them, he was the expert for me, he owned two of them. A Kodak and a Rolleiflex a dream !!!
In 1979 my family went on holiday to Spain and my father gave me my first camera, the Kokak Retinette, I was so proud to have it around my neck and with the appropriate instructions, a specially designed leaflet inserted between the camera and the shell of skin. I remember very well that, I finished two reels in half an hour and…. he took it off me right away.
But I didn’t give up, I nagged and wanted to know, know, learn and at the age of 14 in Italy you choose what you want to be when you grow up and I had no doubts…. I want to be a Photographer.
Dad sometimes took me to Florence to a photographer behind via del Corso in the “Dante’s hole” Paolo Mariani one of the best Matrimonialists in Florence. In the “Buca” there was the studio, lights, panels and above all the darkroom, managed by his cousin, Ennio, a magician !!! For two summers I was at ” Bottega ” clearly working and hard to boot but, I had a lot of fun and above all I learned a lot of things about photography.
I wasn’t allowed to shoot, I could only switch lenses, filters but my eyes stole so much, gestures, movements, habits of what I wanted to become my life.
I collaborated with Paolo to shoot Weddings, catalogs in the studio and outdoors, I remember a sentence that Paolo said to his Father: And it’s beautifully placed and I need it to carry the counter up and down !!!! Bhooo I said.
But later I understood what he meant, the Banco Ottico about thirty kilos plus the easel that weighed as many up and down the streets of Florence making catalogs of paintings, silverware, etc.
September arrives and it’s time to go to school, I chose the Art Institute of Florence in the Graphics and Photography section.
After the Diploma of Master of Art obtained at the legendary Istituto D’Arte in Florence, I had various work experiences, from screen printing, paper converting, hot stamping and lithography, while always remaining tied to my photography.
Strongly desired as a member of the Il Cupolone Club in Florence and where everything is now linked, he has exhibited in personal and group exhibitions in Turkey, Oman, Paris, Luxembourg, Wales, etc.
I was awarded by the Federation Art de Photograpique AFIAP in 2009( Artist ), EFIAP in 2011, EFIAP/B in 2013( Exelance ), EFIAP/S in 2015 and in 2017( Silver Exelance ), EFIAP/G in 2018( Gold Exelance) and EFIAP/P ( Platinum Exelance ) in 2019.. I was part of the Cupolone team when we won the 2007 Club World Cup, GOLD at the 27th Biennial in Luxembourg 2013 with the Italian team, a BRONZE at the 11th Fiap World Cup 2016 , Mention at the 14th World Cup 2018 and World Cup at the 16th World Cup 2021.
The FIAF Italian Federation of Photographic Associations announces the Italian Cup, a competition for photographic circles and in 2009 and 2022 I won the Italian Cup with my photographic circle.
I have about 3000 international admissions with 300 different works and numerous awards.
In 2017 I opened my VAT number as a professional photographer and I’m always looking for new experiences.
In short, I’m still here, wanting to tell my world through images.
